What you do in the two days after an accident shapes everything that follows — whether or not you ever call us.

Hour 0–2
Get seen, and get it written down
Medical attention first, always. A gap between the accident and the first medical record is the most common thing used to reduce a claim later.

Hour 2–12
Photograph everything
Vehicles, the road, signage, your injuries, the weather. Scenes are cleared and cars are repaired far sooner than people expect.

Hour 12–24
Do not give a recorded statement
The other driver's insurer will call quickly and sound helpful. You are not obliged to give a recorded account, and it is rarely wise unadvised.

Have someone read the release
An early cheque usually comes attached to a release of all future claims — including injuries that have not shown up yet.
